Exciting News...

I have so many pictures and so much to blog about I don't even know where to begin.

Evan is half way through his surgery rotations and loves every moment of it. I just ran my second half marathon this summer and soon will be running my 12Th half marathon in a couple of weeks. Hopefully, all of this vigorous training will pay off for the marathon in October and I can come out with a PR. Emmy is doing wonderful. She says a handful of words and is such a little helper. We got back not too long ago from a very fun trip to Utah. Besides that we have just been enjoying life.

And to the good news! I have started a photography website. It is http://www.chelseaolsonphotography.blogspot.com/. I will be much better at updating that then I am with this blog.

Here are a couple of pictures... maybe one day I will add more :) There is actually 5 generations living, but my great Grandma is in Canada. I wish more than anything she could of been in this picture. One of Emmy's favorite Uncles!

Another beach picture because we are true beach bums!

A Wonderful June

Thought I would leave you with a quick post before Emmy and I head to Utah. Tons has been happening this last month. Evan successfully completed Step 1 and we are so glad to have that behind us! We had a very fun filled break of hanging out at the beach, touring the city and relaxing. Evan is back in school starting his surgery rotations. I started off the marathon season with Chicago's 13.1 half marathon. I have two more half's coming up soon before the marathon. Emmy is doing amazing as always. We are currently teaching her colors and body part names and she is catching on very quickly. She loves the outdoors more than anything, so we spend the majority of our time taking walks and hanging out at our favorite places. We are so happy with life and couldn't ask for more. I haven't been very good at taking the camera with me, so here are a handful of pictures of Emmy. Enjoy!

Pictures

I realized that I was heading on another long no blogging streak, so I thought that I would make a quick post. The top pictures tell basically everything that we have been doing the last couple of weeks. We LOVE Chicago in the Summer especially the beach! We can't wait for Step 1 to be over so Evan can join us.

I also got to take some pictures last week of these two beautiful babies. Seriously, it does not get any sweeter than this! Enjoy!

Tons of Chicago Fun, Spring Break, B-day and Emmy

Sorry about the lack of posting we have been extremely busy taking full advantage of the weather getting warmer. Evan has started to get ready for Step 1 and taking on several big research projects. He flies out pretty soon to present one of his research projects at the Arvo conference. I have been taking classes at a near by photography school as well as running as many miles as possible to get ready for another great racing season. Emmy started walking at 11 months and is now a pro. She amazes us daily at how quickly she picks up on things. Celebrating her Birthday was quit the big event. Thanks to all our friends and family who joined us. Here are just a small handful of pics over the last month. Hope you enjoy! We spent a lot of spring break touring all of our favorite Chicago spots and relaxing :) Out to eat at McCormick's. A very late, but Happy Saint Patricks Day! And the Saint Patricks Day Hat (more pics to come). Emmy with the ipod.
Evan giving Emmy another piano lesson. One of many trips to the Zoo. Emmy loved this gorilla and he seemed pretty fond of her too. Easter was a huge success this year. Emmy came programed knowing that chocolate comes in Easter Eggs. Emmy loved what the Easter Bunny dropped off this year. One more because she is just too cute. My two favorite people.
After another very long Chicago winter we can finally head down to the beach in our beach gear. One of Evan's B-day gifts to Emmy... a Bear's cheer leading outfit.
Had to throw this cute one into the collection.

This picture is extremely random, but I noticed that almost all of the pictures that I have are all of Evan and Emmy. I was feeling kind of jealous :) This picture was taken during a modeling assignment in my photography school. Another random picture of me taking a picture because I have been doing a whole lot of that.

Emmy enjoying a cupcake from Forever More. Yummy! Casey got me addicted to making announcements. Here is Emmy's first Birthday card.
Emmy celebrated her first Birthday. It was a ton of fun for me getting out all of my cake decorating supplies and seeing what I could come up with. The cake took several hours to make and was completely demolished in a matters of seconds. Emmy is not shy when it comes to sweets. Just in case you are wondering what it in this lovely cake; dark chocolate top with a strawberry filling (top), red velvet-I got lazy and didnt put a filling in this one (middle) and vanilla bean with a dark chocolate filling (bottom). Thanks for sharing Emmy.
Lukas and Casey came for a very fun visit. We started the excitement at Giardanno's for some yummy deep dish.

Oh, yes she keeps us running.

I have been having so much fun taking classes about photography. I am very interested in portraits and macro photography. I have a very long ways to go, but if you ever want your picture taken I would be more than happy too. In the meantime I have this great model! Emmy with her big baby blue eyes.
For Emmy's Bday I made her this fun Birthday Tutu.Being the sweetest little girl you will ever meet she also has the funniest sence of humor. We just laugh all day long at what this little girl comes up with.
If you can't tell already I love baby feet and it just so happens that I was quickly skimming over pictures for the blog I found a lot I couldn't resist adding.
Emmy gives hugs and kisses to everything. I can't turn a page on a book with out her giving a little smooch to it. It is pretty cute.

Just Because I Cant Get Enough of This Girl

Here are a couple of pics of Emmy. She is such an amazing little girl. So full of life and giggles. It is so wonderful to have a baby who is happy all of the time. It makes my job as a mother very easy and very rewarding.

Evan and Emmy sharing a pear.
Emmy loves to look at books. It keep her attention for a long periods of time.

Emmy's big cheeks may be deceiving. At her 10 month appointment she weighed in at 17 pounds which puts her in the 9 percentile for weight and 60 percentile for height.

Half Marathon, Steff Trip, Chicago Fun and Emmy

I ran the Chicago half marathon. It was a blast despite the fact that it poured the entire time! I ran it in 1 hr 39 mins (11 mins slower than my PR).... frustrating, but I have not had the time to put into it with Emmy. My long time running partner Kate came to cheer me on! And help to pace me off the first couple miles and help me bring it home the last half mile! My sister Steffanie came out to visit. We had tons of fun taking her around chicago.

Up at the top of the John Hancock building...unbelievable view!

Lincoln Park. Lincoln Park Zoo.

This gorilla seemed to be very fond of Emmy. He would follow her with his eyes no matter where we put her.
We went to Wicked and LOVED it! Amazing!
We spent lots of time soaking up the sun at the beach!

Back in Chicago

We have been having TONS of fun in Chicago; however, I have been slacking on taking pictures. Here are some fun pictures of Emmy. She recently turned 4 months old. She is 13 pounds, which makes her in the 50th percentile and is in the 60th percentile for height. We are having so much fun watching her grow. We could not have asked for a sweeter little girl!

First time in her Johnny Jump Up...she is still figuring this one out!
I have also been having tons of fun making Emmy headbands and bracelets.
I have found that I have a HUGE weakness for name brand baby clothes! I just LOVE Gap and Gymboree!

Emmy smiles so big that she completely loses balance, it is sooooo Cute!

Partying in UTAH

We just got back from a very fun and busy trip in Utah. We had a blast spending time with so many friends and family! Here is just a little summary of some of the fun things we did! Thanks mom and dad for having us. We had a WONDERFUL time :) Cant wait to come back!

Mom Sorensen and Emmy
Dad Sorensen and Emmy

BBQ- Debbie and Dave invited us over for a BBQ! It was a blast! Dave and Debbie challenged Evan and I in a game of Guitar Hero....they kicked our butts!

Debbie and me rockin' out!
Frisbee Golf- We had tons of fun playing Frisbee golf!

Tennis- Evan and I probably played a total of 200 games of tennis while we were in Utah. My parents defiantly gave us a good challenge.

Provo Water Park- We took Emmy to a fun water park in Provo. It was her first experience in a pool. She is not a big fan of the bright sun and we didn't want to put her too much in the chlorine, besides that it went really well. It was fun to spend some more time with Luke and Casey and play on the water slides.

Fishing-I think if you ask Evan this was his favorite part of the trip. My dad, brothers (Kody and Kenny), Sterling and Evan took off at 5am to go fishing at Strawberry. Between the 5 of them they caught 27 Cut Throat Trout, the smallest being 15 inches. Evan caught 8 of them; his largest being 2o inches. The largest catch of the day was 21 1/2 inches caught by my dad. They all had a wonderful time and came back fried.

video
Evan's first catch of the day! Two very warn out fishermen (Kody and Kenny).

Games, Games, Games- Evan and I both come from huge game playing families. Here is a picture of Casey, Emmy and me right after playing a fun game of Pirates Dice.

Walks/Parks- We had tons of fun going on walks and playing at the near by parks. Here is a picture taken of a walk up the canyon that Jen and I went on. She is with her cute son Tanner.

Rock Climbing- We went climbing with our good friends Jen and Aaron. It was tons of fun! Both Evan and I were a little rusty, but we eventually got back into the swing of things!

HAPPY 4th of JULY- We were in Colorado for the 4th and watched some fireworks there. However, when we got to Utah we celebrated it all over again! Ev and the boys had tons of fun lighting the fireworks. As you can see I had tons of fun with the sparklers!

HIKING BRIDAL VEIL FALLS-We had tons of fun on our little hike and cooling off in the waterfall. It is always so beautiful there. Grandma dipped Emmy's feet in the water to keep her cool.

GOLFING-We spent sometime with my two younger brothers golfing!!! It was a blast! My brother Kody just finished his summer golfing lessons, so he taught us a few things. Evan kicked our butts every time, but I still gave him a challenge!

This is Kody!
